two different starting points for the conventions of participation: structure and freedom.

there are two different starting points for the establishing of conventions of participation. one starts with the idea of structure, the other begins with freedom.

the approach of structure is dominant in management thinking. the makability, the durability and the efficiency of the conventions are the basic requirements.

the freedom approach, seen more in artstic creation, begins with the freedom of the objective. the end is more important than the mean at the start of the development proces.

both have their virtues and that is the challenge of design.
